Follow this guide for the assembly of the prototype Limited Edition Saddle Layout Electric buggy.
Next year this layout will become the production version, as we found it to perform better, specially exiting corners and jumping.

The first thing you need to do when assembling the new saddle version is to cut the side guards from the back of the guard like shown in the pictures below. The easiest way is to use normal siccors.

Then you need to cut a small slot for the motor mount as shown in the pictures below (motor cut can be a lot smaller than shown) and also for the servo. For these slots I would use side cutters or a dremel.


When mounting the motor you need to choose which motor mount you will need. The lower mount on the right is for Cayote and Hobbywing motors (motors with four M4 screw holes). The higher mount on the left fits all motors. When attaching the screws make sure that it tightens all the way and use threadlock.
When assembling the motor to the chassis, check the gear mesh first and then add threadlock one by one so the mesh stays the same.

Here you can see the layout of the saddle lipo hooks. Before fastening the hooks run the velcro underneath like shown below. The right measurement for a tight hold of the battery is shown. When the measurement is right you can tighten all the lipo hooks.

When assembling the diff mount, make sure it sits straight — check that the center diff isn't rubbing against anything and that the gears are centered in the chassis gear hole.
In the below picture you can see where the tip of the tool is pointing. If the center diff does not spin freely that is because the edge underneath the carbon fiber plate is touching the center diff cup. If this happens you need to chamfer the carbon plate edge underneath slightly to make it spin freely.

When mounting the ESC tray use the o-rings under the plate like in the picture below. You can also mount the o-rings onto the bushings first. The bushings should be directly on the chassis, with the o-rings helping to insulate the carbon plate from vibrations and hard hits.
