¶ Caster angle
Mayako changes the caster angle of the MX8 by changing the C-hubs installed. You mainitain the KPI angle by keeping the same Steering Knuckle.
What does Caster 1 do: Caster 1 is less caster, it will improve steering response and off power steering.
When to try Caster 1: Caster 1 is best most of the time on most tracks. You should start with Caster 1.
What does Caster 2 do: Caster 2 is more caster, it will smooth out steering response and reduce off power steering.
When to try Caster 2: If your car feels hard to drive into corners, or in bumps, you could try Caster 2.
¶ Identifying hubs (Caster/KPI)
2024 parts have engraving of which caster/KPI as below:
The first number is the KPI angle, with the second number being the caster angle (left is KPI0.5/Caster 1, right is KPI1/Caster1).

The shape of the marking denotes the KPI angle:
Circles = KPI 0
Ovals = KPI 1
The number of markings denotes the caster angle:
Caster 1 = 1 marking
Caster 2 = 2 markings

¶ 2024 Part Number Update
For the 2024, Mayako has released front C-Hubs with a link insert, allowing fine adjustment of link height.
KPI 0.5 is also new for 2024. The new knuckles below also allow for use of front Universal Driveshaft. Front knuckle spacer for CVD (MYB0186) is required behind the inner bearing to build with the CVD option.
To use the 2024 knuckles with previous hubs, you just use a single red knuckle height shim.
